Chemical Etching
Metals & Alloys
With six Computerised Engravers all linked up to the latest software, Nameplate Services have both the facilities and the capacity to handle any job, no matter how large or small, in what is probably the largest engraving facility in the UK. Three of our engravers have been specially converted to handle heavy duty engraving such as Stainless Steel and other hard metals
Chemical Etching, also know as Acid Etching, Photo Etching or Chemical Milling is the process of using acids, bases or other chemicals to dissolve unwanted materials such as metals – a negative version of the artwork required is printed onto the plate in etch-resistant ink. The plate is then passed through a corrosive acid, which affects only the exposed metal to produce a design with high detail and quality, providing a long-lasting and durable finish.
